According to historical information, the school was founded in 1708 by two benefactors - a priest and a former captain of a sea vessel. The building itself looks unusual. It is H-shaped, and the walls and roof are decorated with cherubs and other figurines.

Nowadays, the building has been turned into an art center, which sometimes hosts exhibitions of paintings by both contemporary artists and their more famous colleagues of past centuries. Town Hall

You should not pass by another interesting place, which is called Town Hall. Firstly, it is a very old structure that was built over 250 years ago. Secondly, the project is the result of the painstaking work of two ingenious architects of the time (the main building was designed and built by John Wood the Elder, and after a while it was expanded and redesigned by James Watt). And thirdly, the building is a striking example of Georgian architecture.

Initially, Town Hall was planned as a town hall, instead of the old one, which was located nearby. It is interesting that after the revision of the building by J. Watt, it acquired a rather unusual style for buildings of that time. The architect was able to successfully combine elements of styles such as Gothic and Neoclassical.
