There is a fairly large flow of tourists in Milan. Entrepreneurs, shopaholics, and sightseeing seekers flood the city in droves. And this is not surprising, because Milan is the capital of fashion, shopping, luxury, business and beautiful life. It should come as no surprise that there are as many as three airports here.
Malpensa Airport (MXP)
General information
The most complete name is Milan Malpensa. It is an international airport, the primary and most impressive in size among the trinity. In addition, it is the most loaded airport in Italy, both in terms of passenger transportation and cargo transportation. It is located in the city of Varese, 45 km north of the center of Milan. Previously it was called "Busto-Arsizio".
Terminals
Malpensa has 2 terminals: T1 and T2.
T1 works with regular flights. There are three zones in this terminal: 1-A, 1-B and 1-C. Zone A is for Schengen and domestic flights; B is engaged in flights to countries outside the Schengen area and transcontinental; C - Performs the same functionality as Zone B.
T2 serves charters and budget airlines. Started to function earlier than T1.
Both terminals operate around the clock. The distance between them is several kilometers, in this regard, free shuttle buses run on the route. This transport works in the same way as the terminals - around the clock, and the journey between the points takes about 20 minutes.
Infrastructure
The infrastructure in Malpensa is at a high level. Terminal 1 is home to the Malpensa Express train station, which connects the airport with the center of Milan.
An example of a service available:
- Neat restaurants and cafes;
- Pharmacy;
- Mother and child room;
- Exchange offices;
- Banking and post offices;
- Transport rental and parking.

Bus schedule: runs every 20 minutes; the road will take about 1 hour.
Bergamo Airport (BGY)
General information
The airport has a second name - "Orio al Serio" (named after Caravaggio). It is the second largest air hub related to Milan. Like Malpensa, it is located outside Milan, more precisely, 45 km from its center. From Bergamo itself (the center of Lombardy) the airport is 5 km away.
Specializes in low-cost air travel within Europe, as well as local flights and cargo operations. Due to its specialization in low-cost airlines, Bergamo is less comfortable than Malpensa, but no less in demand. Among other things, many charters with skiers arrive here in winter.

Infrastructure
As already mentioned, the airport cannot boast of VIP-comfort, the infrastructure here is rather modest. Has at its disposal only one terminal. It is quite difficult to spend more than three hours in a building. If you have a long wait for a transfer, then the best option would be to rent a hotel room.

- Places of public catering;
- Shops with low prices;
- Waiting rooms with metal and plastic seats;
- First-aid post;
- Wi-Fi zone;

Bus schedule: daily from 4:00 to 00:00 with a break of 30 minutes.
Linate Airport (LIN)
General information
This air hub, unlike its two brothers, is located directly in Milan, just 8 km from its center. Quite a small airport, modest and unassuming, but very comfortable and cozy. Linate specializes in short national, intra-European and budgetary connections.
In Milan, there is a neighborhood of the same name. In order not to get confused by yourself and not to mislead the taxi driver, it would be best to inform him that you need an airport named after E. Forlanini.
Infrastructure
This airport, like Bergamo, has only one terminal - a three-story building, which houses the entire infrastructure. The main services necessary for tourists are located on the first floor of the building, office offices - on the second.
Service example:
- Food points;
- Small shops;
- Duty Free;
- Pharmacy;
- Banks;
- Paid parking (for disabled people free of charge).
